The baguette was introduced to Vietnam in the mid-19th century when Vietnam was part of French Indochina and became a staple food by the early 20th century. During the 1950s, a distinctly Vietnamese style of sandwich developed in Saigon, becoming a popular street food, also known as bánh mì.

Paris Banh Mi Cafe Bakery founded by Hien Tran who grew up in Paris France & Doan Nguyen she owned a chain of a bakery in Ho Chi Minh City Viet Nam. The first store was open in Orlando Florida and quickly grew into a chain of stores located coast to coast from California to Florida.
